Hi, I’m Ayesha Malik, a 12-year-old Year 7 student, young author, and youth leader. I am a scholarship student at a private elite high school, and I love learning, creating, and helping others.

I enjoy reading, writing, swimming, playing volleyball, cricket, and spending time with my family. I’m especially passionate about using my voice to stand up for kindness, understanding, and positive change for children.

Whether through stories, leadership, or community projects, I try to grow with curiosity, courage, and care for the people around me.

My Stories

The moments, experiences, and lessons that shaped my journey

Every child has a voice - and stories are how we make them heard.

Who I Am

My love for writing began when I was very young. In 2019, when I was in Prep, one of my stories was published in the Knox City Council magazine. Seeing my words in print showed me that stories can connect people, share feelings, and create understanding. From that moment, writing became a way for me to express myself and stand up for things that matter.

My First Words

In 2024, my younger sister Ayda and I co-authored Big Bully Person Behind the Mask. The book explores bullying, empathy, and the reasons behind hurtful behaviour. We wanted to help children understand that behind every bully is often someone who is struggling, and that kindness and courage can make a real difference.

Writing this book together was a special experience for us. It allowed us to turn our thoughts, feelings, and conversations into a story that could help other children feel understood and supported.

My First Book

We were honoured to be invited to Victorian Parliament to present our book to Members of Parliament and community leaders. Sharing our story in such an important place showed us that young voices truly matter and that children can be part of meaningful conversations about kindness, safety, and understanding.

This experience reminded us that stories have the power to reach far beyond the page and create real impact in the world.

Sharing My Message

I am currently recording Big Bully Person Behind the Mask for Audible so more children and families can listen to our story. Hearing stories out loud can make them feel even more powerful, especially for young readers who connect through sound and voice.

My sister and I are also launching our podcast, Young Voices, Big Impact, in early 2026. Through honest conversations and storytelling, we aim to give young people a space where they can feel heard, supported, and confident to share their experiences.

Hearing My Voice

I am currently writing my second book, which is scheduled for publication in mid-2026. Through writing, speaking, and sharing stories, I hope to continue inspiring courage, empathy, and positive change for children everywhere.

My journey as a writer is still just beginning, and I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and using my voice to make a difference.

What’s Next

I have served as School Captain and Class Captain for three years, learning the importance of teamwork, encouragement, and leading by example. Being a leader has taught me how to listen, support others, and help create a positive and inclusive environment at school.

I enjoy helping my peers feel confident and valued, and I believe leadership is about bringing people together and making sure everyone feels heard.

Growing as a Leader

My Graduation Speech

As School Captain, I had the honour of speaking at my graduation ceremony. This moment represents my journey in leadership, confidence, and standing up to share my voice.

I am a Black Belt in Karate and was awarded Student of the Year in 2024 at my Karate institute, selected from over 500 students. Karate has taught me discipline, focus, and perseverance, helping me build confidence and resilience both inside and outside the dojo.

These lessons guide me in my studies, leadership, and everyday life.

Strength & Discipline

I enjoy learning and growing alongside others. At home, my sister and I run a Book Club where friends come together to read, share ideas, and encourage one another’s creativity. We talk about stories, try writing challenges, and learn how to give kind and helpful feedback.

Being part of clubs and creative spaces has helped me build confidence, teamwork, and a love for lifelong learning. These experiences remind me that learning is even more meaningful when it’s shared.
